Q: Are all compounds
interchangeable with various companies? “Purple” from Jaco the same as a
“purple” from brand X?
A: Tire
Compounds that we offer are not necessary the same as other tires on the
market. This is true with the color-coded identification “dots” However,
Nitro Shoes use industry standard foam and durometer rating system.
Q: Is there a difference between front
Nitro shoes and rear Nitro Shoes? Can I use front on the back and visa
versa if the compounds are the same? A: Nitro
Shoes are available in front and rear compounds. Even though the
durometer number may be the same. The rubber is completely different.
The durometer numbers reflect relative hardness among similar tires in
the same foam family. The difference includes cell-structure, wear
resistance, bite and price. Fronts have less bite but better wear. Rears
have much more bite and slightly higher wear.
Q: What traction compound do you
recommend for Jaco tires? A: Most compounds on the market work very
well, instead of recommending one we subject that you use what ever is
most popular at your club. Carpet will tend to “soak” up compound and
for that reason the most popular compound used at the track will have a
higher rate of traction.
Q: After you true is it better to leave
a sharp edge or should you round the tire? And how much? A: After you true the tires there will be a
square edge, this can catch and cause you to chunk or traction roll. It
is super important to nicely round the edges of the tires |
